I had designed the mum, then once i spoke to tutors and a couple of friends and actually stepped back and looked at the design I wasnt entirely happy with it. The mum didnt fit with the boy character and he was the style i wanted for my film. so i played around alot with the figure and changed the shape of her face, she doesnt look hugely different but she fits soooo much better with the boy.
